Niantic Labs introduced the long-awaited mega-evolution function into their immensely popular AR mobile title, Pokemon GO, on Aug. 27. Mega evolution was one of the most highly sought after mechanics in the game after its debut in the Generation IV main series games and show. Traditionally, mega-evolution unlocks extra power, stats, and changes to the chosen Pokemon’s physical appearance.
