Persian has been in Pokemon GO since the game’s launch in July 2016. Before that, it was widely known as the favored partner Pokemon of Team Rocket’s Giovanni and, thus, the “character” foil to the antagonistic Meowth. Alolan Persian was released in-game in June 2018 and the Pokemon’s Galarian form, Perrserker, joined the game a couple of years later in June 2020.
